Playoff Bound Dawgs: Georgia enters CFP as No. 3
GRAPEVINE, TX -- The Georgia Bulldogs (12-1) entered the last week to impress the College Football Playoff committee as the No. 6 team in the country, in all likelihood needing a win over No. 4 Auburn in the SEC Championship to clinch a spot in the playoff. The 28-7 win over the Tigers on Saturday not only gave the Dawgs their first SEC title since 2005, but their first ever CFP berth.
The CFP committee chose the Dawgs as the No. 3 ranked team in the country, punching their ticket to the playoff. Oklahoma, led by Heisman trophy candidate quarterback Baker Mayfield, will be UGA's opponent in the national championship semifinal.
Georgia and Oklahoma will play each other in the Rose Bowl in Pasedena, CA
