Report: Georgia QB Eason to transfer to Washington

MGN Online

ATHENS, Ga. - Reports say Georgia Bulldogs backup quarterback Jacob Eason will transfer to the University of Washington.

Eason, a sophomore, joined Georgia in 2016 as a 5-star recruit. He chose the Bulldogs over his home-state Huskies.

Eason was Georgia's starting quarterback in 2016, throwing for 2,430 yards, 16 TDs and eight INTs as the Bulldogs went 8-5.

He was named Georgia's starting QB for the 2017 season, but suffered an injury in Week 1 and never regained his position from Jake Fromm, who led UGA to the National Championship.

The Seattle Times first reported Eason's expected transfer. Eason would be required to sit out the 2018 season with Washington.

Justin Fields -- the no. 1 rated HS QB in the nation -- will join Georgia for the 2018 season.
