The clock has hit triple zeros but Darrell Lockhart will need more time to grasp what his Upson-Lee Knights accomplished Friday night.

"I'm numb right now," Lockhart said. "Not only am I happy for them but they'll be back next year. I feel pretty good right there."

Thanks to 24 huge points from Knights' star Tye Fagan, Upson-Lee topped St. Pius X 53-48 in the GHSA AAAA State Basketball Championship Game at McCamish Pavilion at Georgia Tech.

The Knights saw a 15-point second half lead dwindle to six with three minutes remaining but Michael Smith and Travon Walker iced the game for the Knights at the free throw line.

With the win, Upson-Lee captures their first state championship in school history. The Knights finish the season 32-0.
