MACON, Ga. -- The last senior class that girls basketball head coach Sheila Toombs will ever coach went out with a bang in their last season. Today, five Central Lady Chargers signed their letters of intent to play college athletics next season.

Jada Clowers will be attending St. Petersburg State on a basketball scholarship, Tyleia Williams and JeNya Wilder will both attend Snead State on basketball scholarship, NaKayia Greene will be going to Southern Crescent Community College on a basketball scholarship, and Reneesha Goolsby will be attending Fort Valley State University on a softball scholarship.

This senior class was pivotal in leading the Lady Chargers to a region championship last year, and a trip to the GHSA Sweet 16 in the playoffs.

Head coach Sheila Toombs announced her retirement from coaching at the end of the 2017-18 season, and was overfilled with pride watching five of her last seniors have the opportunity to play college athletics.

"This is a dream for them, and also a dream for me for them to get to this point in their lives," coach Toombs said. "This is what I do it for. I love how they grow, and how they get to go to the next level. I just do it for the love of the game and the love of these young ladies."
