MACON, Ga. -- In a much anticipated rematch of last year's GHSA A-Private championship, the Wesleyan and FPD varsity girls soccer teams rematched tonight in the Elite Eight round.

The Lady Vikings lost in that title game last year, 4-1 against the Lady Wolves, but they got their revenge in this year's Elite Eight. FPD shutout Wesleyan 2-0 to advance to next week's state semifinals.

FPD went up 1-0 in the first half courtesy of a Karston Herron goal, and added some insurance in the second with a goal from Elizabeth Nelson.

Lady Viking keeper Caylee Ann Sutton was stellar in the net, stopping a penalty kick in the first half and earning the shutout win at home.

FPD will face Calvary Day on the road next week for a trip to the state championship. That Final Four matchup will be on May 8, no start time has been announced yet.
