MACON, Ga. -- Today First Presbyterian Day's Maurice Gordon signed his name on the dotted line, officially committing to play basketball at Gulf Coast State College next season.

The Viking senior averaged 11.2 points per game, 7.7 rebounds per game, and 2.7 assists per game in his last season with the program.

For his career, he finished with 875 points, 498 rebounds, 122 assists, 109 steals, and 107 blocks. He was named to the Region 7 Class A-Private All-Region team three time in his career at FPD.

Gordon will be joining another middle Georgia standout in Panama City to play with the Commodores. Mary Persons' star Cam Holden has also verbally committed to play with Gulf Coast State next year.

The idea of playing together has been in Gordon's mind for a long time, and he says he's excited to have the chance to play with Holden at the collegiate level.

"Me and Cam played together a lot," Gordon said. "We've got a lot of chemistry together... me and Cam wanted a connection. We wanted, like, a package deal. So both of us can go to the same place, since we're so close together."
