Bacon bounce back with win at Florence

    The Macon Bacon picked up another come from behind win on Thursday. The Bacon defeated the Florence Redwolves on the road 6-2. The Bacon improves to 2-1 in the 2nd half of the Coastal Plain League.

    Alex Canty got the scoring started for the Bacon in the top of the 2nd with a fielders choice RBI that scored Kenton Crawford to make it 1-0. The Redwolves would bounce back in the bottom of the 2nd scoring a run off a error. The added the go ahead run in the bottom of the 3rd with a Ben Peden RBI double. Macon would respond in the top of the 4th. Brandon Michie doubled in Riley King to tie the game at 2. Then, Jackson Jones singled in Michie to make it 3-2. The Bacon would add more in the top of the 6th. Crawford doubled home Michie, then Canty singled home Jones to make it 5-2. Andres Perez would cap the scoring with a solo home run to center in the top of the 8th as Macon would cruise to the 6-2 win.

    Jones went 3 for 4 with a RBI and 2 runs scored. Canty was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Michie, Crawford, and Cal Gentry each collected 2 hits on the night. Logan Winder picked up the win going 5 innings while giving up 2 runs off of 4 hits and striking out 4.

    Up next, Savannah will come to Luther Williams Field on Friday. First pitch will be at 7 pm.
