The Macon Bacon just cannot solve the Savannah Bananas at Luther Williams Field. The Bacon fell 7-5 on Friday night. They are now 2-7 in the Battle for the Golden Spork, and 0-5 at home. Macon is now 2-2 in the 2nd half of the Coastal Plain League season.

Savannah got things going in the top of the 1st scoring 3 runs off of doubles from Clay Duggan and H Wilson to make it 3-0. The Bacon would get a Jackson Jones sac fly in the bottom of the 4th to make it 3-1. Duggan would respond in the top of the 5th with another RBI double. However, Macon would come alive in the bottom of the 5th. Riley King singled, Brandon Michie drew a bases loaded walk, then Kenton Crawford hit a 2 run double to make it 5-4. Savannah would get a sac fly from Bill Leroy in the top of the 6th to make it 5-5. Cade Marlowe hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 9th. That would help Savannah edge Macon 7-5.

Up next, Macon will head to Savannah on Saturday. First pitch will be at 7 pm.
