Macon Bacon split doubleheader with Lexington County

Bacon are now 7-8 in the 2nd half./(A.J. Good WGXA)

The Macon Bacon were looking to gain some ground in the Coastal Plain League South Division in the 2nd half, but they were unable to do so on Monday night in a doubleheader with Lexington County. The Bacon took the first game 5-0, and fell in the night cap 8-1. Macon is now 7-8 in the 2nd half.

In game one, James Williams had the first complete game shutout in Bacon history. He went 7 innings while giving up 3 hits and striking out 6. Alex Canty went 3 for 3 with a RBI.

In game two, Blowfish pitcher Brett Fulk picked up the win going 5 innings while giving up no runs off of 5 hits. Jared Williams and Carson McCurdy each had a 3 run home run in the game.

Up next, the Bacon will host Savannah on Tuesday night at Luther Williams Field. First pitch will be at 7 pm.
