Mayhem fall in OT in regular season finale

The regular season did not end the way the Macon Mayhem wanted it to on Saturday night. The Mayhem fell in overtime to the Evansville Thunderbolts 3-2. Macon had already clinched the 3rd spot in the SPHL Playoffs.

Dave Williams got the scoring going with a rebound shot that put Evansville up 1-0 with under 20 seconds left to play in the 1st. Dylan Van Esch scored the next two goals for Macon in the 2nd period to give the Mayhem at 2-1 lead. Tyler Derskey tied the game in the 3rd period with 2 minutes left to play. Williams ended the game just 14 seconds into overtime to give the Thunderbolts the victory.

The Mayhem will pick their 1st round opponent on Sunday night at 6:30 pm. The playoffs will start next Saturday.
