Mayhem take down first-place Ice Flyers on the road

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The Macon Mayhem (16-7-5) beat the Pensacola Ice Flyers (20-6-3) 4-2 on Sunday evening in the Florida panhandle.

The Mayhem trailed 1-0 after the first period thanks to a power play goal by the Flyers. Caleb Cameron tied it up in the second with a goal of his own to make it 1-1. Macon and Pensacola then traded goals in a matter of seconds to push the score to 2-2. Darren McCormick scored with time winding down in the second to go into the final intermission up 3-2.

The Mayhem added an empty-netter to push the final score to 4-2 and give them a much needed three points.

The blue sweaters return to Macon for their next game on Friday night against Pensacola once again for "90's Night" at the Centreplex.
