Astros claim first World Series Title with dominant Game 7 victory
LOS ANGELES, Calif -- For the first time in franchise history, the Houston Astros our World Series Champions.
Thanks to a dominant first two innings at the plate, Houston jumped on Los Angeles early cruising to a 5-1 Game 7 victory at Dodger Stadium.
Houston CF George Springer highlighted the route with his World Series tying fifth home run on a two-run shot in the second inning off Yu Darvish.
Former Atlanta Braves Pitcher Charlie Morton earned the win for Houston tossing four strikeouts through the final four innings. The Astros bullpen dominated LA the rest of the way despite the Dodgers leaving 10 runners left on base.
This is the third time in the last four World Series a Game 7 has been forced with the road team winning on each occasion.
