Darqueze Dennard makes Christmas brighter for Twiggs County kids
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ga. -- Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Darqueze Dennard didn't always have a lot of gifts on Christmas morning growing up, but he always had plenty of love and support from his family. Friday, Dennard made sure that kids in Twiggs County not only felt love, but made sure that they had a gift to take home for Christmas this year.
Dennard wasn't able to be in Twiggs County this holiday season because he is currently in the middle of his fourth season for the Cincinnati Bengals. Even though he was not in attendance to hand out gifts to children in the Twiggs County community, he still wanted to give the children a special Christmas.
"He wanted to give back to his hometown because he wasn't raised with everything," said Tia Kra. "He had all the love care and support but like little items and material things he didn't have all the time so he always say's be a blessing to someone else."
This is the first year that Dennard has bought gifts for kids in Twiggs County, and it won't be the last.
"He's in a great position now in his life," said Kra. "He's so humbled and he's always willing to give to the next person."
