Falcons select Alabama WR Calvin Ridley with first round pick
DALLAS, Tex. -- The Falcons decided to bolster their wide receiver corps with their first round selection in the 2018 NFL draft, selecting University of Alabama junior wide receiver Calvin Ridley with the 26th overall pick.
Ridley was a main offensive cog for the Crimson Tide in their 2018 season, leading them to a national championship. He finished the year with 967 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
For his career, Ridley had 224 receptions for 2,781 receiving yards and 19 touchdown in three seasons with Alabama.
The last time the Falcons selected a wide receiver from Alabama was in 2011, when the they traded up to the No. 6 pick to draft Julio Jones.
