Georgia Doom upset Richmond 56-44 at home

MACON, Ga. -- Despite changing head coaches earlier in the week, the Georgia Doom put together one of their most impressive wins of the season tonight against the Richmond Roughriders. The Doom took down the Roughriders 56-44, handing Richmond its first loss of the season.

The Roughriders fall to 7-1 on the season, while the Doom improve to 4-2 coming off of a bye week.

Larry Beavers led the way on offense in a 27-point first half for the Doom. He hauled in two of the team's four touchdowns -- both coming in the last minute of the second quarter.

The Doom return to action next Saturday, May 19 when the Florida Tarpons come to the Centreplex. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m..
