Danielle Apolinar joined the WGXA-TV news team as a Multimedia Journalist in October 2016. You can watch her Monday through Friday on the 5 and 6 o'clock newscasts.
Danielle comes from sunny South Florida, which is where her journalism career began. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. This is where she found her passion for people and telling their stories. Danielle worked as a Multimedia Journalist for the student-run, campus news source KnightNews.com. With KnightNews.com she covered breaking news and community stories, and it didn’t stop there. Danielle also interned with WESH 2 News in Orlando as a news intern both dayside and nightside. During her last year in the Broadcast Journalism program, Danielle worked with the campus-run Knightly News. There, she got to anchor, produce and serve as a reporter.
Danielle tries to let her passion for news and the community shine through in all of her work. She is looking forward to getting to know the Macon community.
When she’s not in the newsroom or out covering stories, Danielle likes to spend her time outdoors. Danielle likes to run and explore the local hiking trails -- something she’s not used to after spending her entire life in Florida. Danielle also has a passion for people and animals and likes to volunteer when she has free time.
You can reach Danielle through social media or email her at email@example.com.
