Lauren Malek

Lauren is a Producer for WGXA's evening news. She joined the WGXA team in September 2021.

Lauren graduated from the University of Georgia in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a minor in Film Studies. She successfully completed UGA's Photojournalism program. While in college, she also volunteered as a part-time puppy raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind.

Before joining WGXA, Lauren came from a newspaper background. For a year, she wrote for The Eatonton Messenger winning several Georgia Press Association Awards for her work in the community.

When she isn't putting together newscasts for the Middle Georgia community, Lauren enjoys yoga, trying new foods with her fiancé and spending time with her cat, Whispur.
