Middle Georgia's major news events of the past three decades have been delivered to WGXA viewers through the lens of videographer Perry Smith. The Macon native travels the midstate continually, giving the world a look at the triumphs, tragedies and trends important to all of us.
His camera has captured every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan, traveled to the sands of California as the 48th Brigade trained for Desert Storm and caught confetti falling from the Atlanta skyline to celebrate its selection to host the 1996 Olympic games. Chief Photographer Perry Smith is on a first-name basis with many of your local leaders and loved by all our regular newsmakers.
Perry graduated from Lyndonville State University in Vermont and joined the WGXA news team in 1983. When Perry is not covering the news of the day he enjoys spending time with his family and his dog Kimmee.
